PCSing

That day is coming closer and closer.
and I must say, we are pretty excited and nervous all at the same time.
Goodbye Fort Drum and Hello Fort Carson!

For some reason, it's just now really hitting me that we are moving and oh my we have a lot to get together. This will be our first army move and we have no idea what we are doing. Chris has an appointment sometime this week to get things figured out more, but still! We are moving 28 hours away, with two cars, a new baby, and a dog. How can this possibly work out?! I think we are trying to do somewhat of a partial DITY because we hear that's the best way to go, but we definitely need to get more information on how this works.

We are really excited about leaving Drum and going to Carson. We are totally not New York people. We hate the town we are in, the people are rude, and we can't stand the harsh winters. However, I am a little worried for Cayden's sake. We absolutely love our cardiologist here. He knows what he is talking about and does so well with Cayden. Moving means we have to find a new doctor that we can trust to take amazing care of our little man. Especially if we have to go through with the open heart surgery. Talk about a stressed mommy.

Anyways, We have heard amazing things about Colorado and can't wait to get there.

Any advice on military moves?!
We would greatly appreciate it.

  3. How exciting!!! We really want to go there too! It seems like everyone is there!
Advice: No matter how much you plan, things will go wrong. Either way, plan as much as you can. I suggest ALWAYS doing a partial DITY move. You don't have to take a lot with you, especially since you have the baby, but this way, you can keep your essentials for the first few days until you get your belongings, and you'll get paid for transporting everything, plus the gas! (:
