Grump-A-Lump

Warning: Rant in progress.
My little man has been a hassle and a half and my lovely neighbors show no sympathy. At the beginning of the week Cayden got his first set of shots. Well, that was awful. He seemed to get over it pretty fast. but then he woke up from his little nap a couple hours later and things got ugly. His legs were so sore he couldn't take it. He SCREAMED and SCREAMED and I honestly thought he wasn't going to stop. After lots of love and patience, he finally calmed down. Well, I don't know if he is in pay back mode or something? but he has not slept since the shots. He usually is a pretty decent sleeper and isn't very fussy but man oh man have the tables turned. He is taking these little 10 minute naps and then being cranky for the entire day. I can usually get about 3-4 hours of sleep out of him between feedings at night. However, that has turned into 1 and a half-2 hours now. On top of this, our upstairs neighbors are still on this game to make our life a living hell for no reason. They run marathons in their apartment all day with their child and two dogs, they slam all five hundred doors when coming and going, and they let their dogs hang out by our door. All of which wake Cayden up...

On top of this, I am having serious issues with my appearance. Yeah yeah, I know I "look great for just having a baby" but my body has changed in so many ways. I tried dying my hair and the color took wrong, my stomach is terribly flabby, my legs are thick, my boobs are uneven, in my eyes, I'm a mess. and honestly my opinion matters A LOT. Anyone can tell me that I look amazing, but if I don't believe it then it has no effect. I have a lot of work to do to get my self confidence back up and I can tell it's not going to be easy.
Bleh. End of rant.

Here's my cute child.

  1. Have you tried talking to your neighbors? That is definitely 1 thing that I do not miss about being in an apartment. And I understand that no matter what anyone says to you about your appearance that if you do not feel comfortable, then everything that people say to you kind of goes in 1 ear and out the other. Dont be so hard on yourself though, enjoy your baby, they grow up way too fast. Your body just went through a lot to make that little boy, unfortunately our bodies dont always bounce right back to normal...trust me I know.

  2. I would try to talk to your neighbors. They may not realize how much their footsteps and etc. are heard by you. Most people don't understand until they live on the first floor apartment :) If not, maybe a "Shh...baby sleeping sign on your door" would be enough of a hint?? Good luck and I hope things settle down with the baby. My daughter always reacted horribly to shots. I began to dread them.
